Gage R&R Excel .xls form and SPC Xbar and R template (lost it.. )

Good morning.

I had a request to do a gage R & R -- well actuallly.. the R & R is done -- I just don't seem to be able to find that EXCEL spreadsheet on my laptop anywhere -- I'm thinking it's at home, but doesn't help me now. Anyone got one (a spreadsheet) set up with the formulas? The short form is fine -- patterned after the APQP workbook. I don't need the REAL one (unless you got it) -- I just didn't want to setup the entire set of formulas again -- wanted to enter this data into a spreadsheet and study the results this morning..

Post attachment or send private (and we can go from there.)

Next Q. I need a good SPC Xbar and R template now. I got it here somewhere too!

I hate setting Excel spreadsheets back up from scratch, when I kno I absolutely have it on my drive somewhere!.. lmbo.

One option that I resort to on occasion for finding missing files is to go to "Start" "search" "For files or folders" (or whatever the equivalent is on your particular version of Word (or the equivalent on Macs, for that matter)). Then

• under "search options" choose the type of file (Excel in this case)
• under "containing text" type in some string of characters from that file that won't be in too many other files (perhaps "Xbar" or "SPC" but probably not "quality")

It takes quite a bit longer than searching for the title of the file, but it can often track down "lost" files. And it is the computer's time, not yours, so you can go get some coffee and then comeback to see what it found

So tru. I've done it that way as well. I'm thinking (occasionally I DO think, so don't laugh!) that I pushed that file off to my home 'puter. Maybe one will turn up. I checked the Cayman file listing -- figured since I found the 1st excel there, I might find one called Xbar and R.xls.

I found another two more Gage R & R's Excel templates; i.e., Honda's format, and Nissan's. I still lyk the partcert(6.15) one from Delphi the bestest though.

and someone has a thread in the MSA board -- basically same Q.

I note Google, Yahoo, and Mickeysoft have new desktop searchtools that work infinitely faster than the original search method described by Tim. One or more of these have the ability to even search emails, etc. all in the same search.

Perhaps not enough time to drive to Starbucks, but across the hall to the break room is a different matter.

For me, it took about 2 min to search my computer for excel files with specific word in the text, which is just about enough time to refill my cup.

(I was surprised that it still took nearly 1 minute to just search for excel files with a specific word in the title.)
