We have a vision system with an attached touch-probe kit that we want to use for automated inspection via a controlled routine. To do this, we developed a fixture and programmed a routine to automatically inspect up to 18 parts placed into this fixture. We need to qualify our program for use with inspection of this part, so I was advised to run a gage r&r on the program. We have 2 operators, myself included, that would potentially use the program for routine inspection.
I was thinking of setting up an 18x2x2 gage r&r worksheet, then completely filling the fixture with parts, following the operator and parts order on the worksheet, and running the program.
Is a gage r&r an appropriate method to use for this method qualification, or is there a better option?
Thanks for any advice you can offer!
