Gage R&R on one tape measure to represent all identical tapes

Good Afternoon,

Somewhere I thought I read about performing an R&R on a tape measure and using that resulting information to represent all identical tapes purchased at that time.

Something about performing an R&R to represent a family of devices.

I've searched here and not found anything.

Does anyone have any thinking on this?
