Hello. Absolutely can be audited for IATF. We currently perform a gap analysis against all customer specific requirements and document any gaps and action plans to bridge the gaps.
Hi Matt! I'm working as a Quality Admin at a gear manufacturiing company for aerospace (AS9100 accreditted). Could you please advise me on how to do the gap analysis against all cutomer specific requirements? (Their "Supplier Quality Requirements/Manual") I have been asked to do it, and I don't have the experties.. I thought I would try an excel sheet dividing in columns: AS/QM/Internal Process/Customer1/Customer2/.../Deviation of Actions, and below have each requirement related to the main AS subject.
We have a new Quality manager in the company but also doesn't have this specific experience.
I would really appreciate an expert opinion to make it efficient and quicker than what I'm trying now.
Kind regards.

I think he’s right. Back in the old days we would receive hard copies of manuals and would need to log and control them. Today, those manuals are part of a customer’s web portal — latest version is there. And yes you still have to review the manual and update your system. You can record such reviews with a log.
Hi there! Could you please elaborate on how exactly to review it and update the system/record with log? I'm new at this, and there's no one in this company having this experience.
Kind regards.

Basically with a matrix. Identify where your CSR address specific clauses of the standard and how your system addresses both the standard and the CSR.

Thank you very much! Would you do that seperate for every single customer, or have them all on the same matrix next to each other?

Just get the CSR's directly from the IATF web page, those are already linked to the specific IATF16949 clauses, then you can identify the gaps against your QMS and define actions to close those gaps.

In my case we have a matrix with all CSR's listed from each OEM linked to each IATF clause and then a correspondent column with our internal procedures which cover each CSR in addition of the IATF clause.

We also have a gap analysis for each Tier1 customer (we have both Tier1 and OEMs customers...), where we split each clause from their supplier manual and add some columns at the end to identify: the responsible functional area/manager, the internal procedure that covers the clause, another with notes/deviations and one more for actions/responsibles and due dates to close the gaps.

I hope this helps as a reference anyone that have to create a Gap Analysis from a CSR's or/and Supplier Manuals from customers.
