General Motors GP-10 Standard

On page 77 of QS-9000 3rd Edition it notes that the "body" of GM Specific requirements is known as GM 9000.

On page 76 under GP-10 it notes the provision that 3rd party registration to QS-9000 will satisfy GP-10 requirements.

This provision excludes commercial laboratory services.

As usual there is also a note that says some GM divisions may require GP-10. I guess that would be resolved during contract review.

The latest version of GP10 is FEB 1990
You cannot get it from GM supplier without a password and you have to be a GM supplier to get one.
Download a copy of GP10 from ***DEAD LINK REMOVED*** and the purchase list of the procedures, not that you should buy but this gives the dates of the last editions at ***DEAD LINK REMOVED***
All the best

On current GM Engineering Standards, under Requirements, it states;

"Testing is to be performed by a laboratory approved to GM GP-10 or by a laboratory accredited or certified to perform audits by an agency recognized by GM to ISO/IEC25 or ISO 17025. Registration to QS9000 is not a substitute for lab accreditation."

Translation?

Al, it was included in a "draft" of a spec. we are updating along with the GM Interior Systems Group.
The spec. covers Non Traditional Floor Coverings. We are still waiting for a explanation from GM concerning these requirements.
Apparently, the engineer responsible for this draft has moved onto a different program and is no longer invovled with the Interior Systems Group.
So far, this is the only one I know of that lists these requirements.
