Greetings All,
METROLOGY SPECIFICATION ALERT from Tom Smith
I just wanted to drop a note to all readers that there has been a movement in the old Government Specifications world. Cancellations have been made on many old GGG specs including GGG-G-15 (Gage Blocks & Accessories, inch and metric) as of July of 99. For many labs that are stating GGG specs as procedures, its time to investigate the replacement or equivalent specs to stay current if one has not already done so. This is big for all of you labs that quote these specs on your Certs. I have just received a spread sheet with the cancelled specs from a friend at a document reseller. Some have no replacements. This is crunch time.
Just thought all of you busy metrologists might want to know.
