Google AdSense "Interest Based" Ads

I was doing a google search for lawn mowers and then happened to go into the Cove forum immediately after the search. Interestingly, my google search followed me. My Cove view showed google links for lawn mowers in the space before the forum threads. All the sponsored links were for lawn mowers also. It may have happened in the past but I never noticed it before. No wonder there is concern about the power of Google.

It happens to me and most people. Some people complain about it (Google tracking them and their interests). Personally it doesn't bother me at all. When I'm looking to buy something I rarely do a search and buy. Usually it takes a few days to look around so seeing related ads pop up now and again doesn't bother me.

For those worried about privacy, think Facebook.... Google doesn't hold a candle to Facebook with regard to collecting (and selling) personal data. Anyone with a Facebook page can not complain about invasion of privacy.

If you use gmail it will often offer ads related to the topic of the email.
