Google maps and Google Earth satellite photos - WoW!

Wow. If it had my gate code, it would tell us how to drive right up to my house! It actually shows the passage into the old fairground (last used in the 1960s) as a city street. I didn't realize that was still public property.

Google Maps is "AWSOME", best I've seen
Thanks for the heads up on this one, I bookmarked it.

Are you also looking at the satellite photos? They are even more awesome. Certainly much quicker than anything else I've used.

Everyone else wants to CHARGE for satellite photos. Even Google charged up until yesterday.

Just did a satellite view of Marc's house. They don't get as tight a resolution as for mine, but it looks like there is a nice golf course just to the west of his home. The detail in the photo for my house is amazing.

Yes - That's Beckett Ridge and their golf course. I used to live in the Beckett Ridge 'subdivision' but it just became too expensive. Right now they're barraging everyone with pleas to 'join the club' again. Most of the people I know who were members quit some years back as fees kept increasing. I will say it's a nice course and club house.

Google maps

A colleague of mine showed me these maps today. It was awsome. I could see the details of shopping malls, highrise buildings. The arrow was directly on my house, so I could not see the details.

give a neighbor's address just down the street (to the north) to get an unobstructed view of your house, clicking on the X in the white address box makes the box disappear; clicking on the red flag makes it reappear.

So far, the only thing I could suggest as an improvement (Continuing Improvement) would be to add the date of the aerial photo on the photo (maybe the same thing for the street map as well (revision control, Configuration Management.)

I notice aerial photo of my house is about 1 year old, but of my daughter's house in Texas is about 3 years old (personally known landmarks which appear or not in photos.)

It's a minor complaint, but surely something to consider before relying on the aerial photo or map for an important decision (streets now paved or not, road closed or not, buildings standing or not, etc.)

Help!!!

When I pull up the site I get a blank boxes with a small check box in the top left corner. I know it in my set-up.

I recently installed McaFee Suite and use Opera and IE for browsing.

Any ideas?????
