Greg B - AWOL

Greg B

I just thought I'd let everyone know that I have returned (that's if any one missed me). I have been AWOL with a Medical condition (Graves Disease and Toxic Thyroid) but I have a letter from my Mum so its O.K.

The Problem no longer exists as I had a delightful :bonk: little operation last Wednesday and had the nasty bugger totally removed. I will be enjoying the next two or three weeks off work doing nothing.
Now, if anyone has the chance to have this operation (Thyroidectomy) I suggest that you buy a few turtle neck sweaters or have the Op around Halloween so noone will ask you about the 6 inch gash across your throat. It looks and feels like Dr Frankenstein's work.

Anyway, I have been reviewing a lot of the threads and it's good to see that the usual suspects have kept up the good work. Congrats, Energy on becoming the Big Sherriff around these parts. :smokin:

Greg,

Nice to see you back. Wishing you a speedy recovery. The Sheriff thing? Oh well, duty calls!

You can spend a lot of time in the Cover while you are mending.

Greg-

Good to see you back. I had the same thing about 5 years ago. I went to the Doctors cause I wasn't feeling too good and had lost about 50 pounds in a month and a half and was eating about 6 full meals a day. Next thing I know I am in the hospital for 4 days!! I was out of work for 10 months while they tried to get it under control (9.1 times overactive), even had the raiodactive iodine treatment but that didn't work. They finally got it under control enough so I could have the operation to have my thyroid removed and I was able to get back to work a couple weeks later. You can't even tell I had the operation unless you look close, it is about a 4to 5 inch cut they made. Anyway good to see you back!! :bigwave:

Welcome back!

I'll thump him in his Smokey The Bear hat, now that he is incapacitated! Just kidding. See how much you're missed, Greg? :p

Welcome back Greg! :bigwave:

Perhaps if we ever bump into each other we can compare scars (I have a 12 incher running vertically on my abdomen from colon surgery several years ago).

Praying for your speedy recovery.

ISO,

I had this for two years before they could get it under control enough to operate. It went high then low and then raced away. I remember the days when I also ate whatever I wanted and still lost weight at a furious pace. It was nothing to sleep all day and then sit up and watch TV all night along with a couple of steaks at 1 a.m. It really messes with your system. Meanwhile, I'll just keep being amusment for my Kids. They wanted to take me to Show and Tell.

Everyone Else: Thanks for the support and I look forward to catching up with you all through the threads. :bigwave:
