Ground bond test when no ground is accessible

Hello.

I have a medical equipment which is like a bathtub and its only part that is under voltage is a motor.
This motor comes from the supplier attached with the power supply cable (which is also the supply cable of my equipment). This motor is covered by a plastic material, so I don`t have access to its metal cage.

The doubt is: How can I do the ground bond test is my equipment if the only part which is grounded is the motor but it has a plastic cover all around?
Is the test necessary in this case?

Thanks in advance.

In design phase (and in third party testing) you will need to pull apart and test the internal earthed parts accordingly. This is mandatory if the earthed parts have only basic insulation (1 MOP) to mains parts.

In production it is expected also to have an earth resistance test. It would make sense to have the test prior to adding the plastic case. If the motor is supplied with the case, ask the motor supplier for evidence of a production earthing resistance test.

If the part is certified by a recognized agency, you can reasonably assume that both of these are already done (design and production tests), although it might be best to check the paperwork (test reports, requested production tests) to be sure.

Just to add a bit to Peter's excellent response....

When I am performing grounding/ bonding tests, I always perform resistance verifications to anything that could conduct electricity. So I will verify resistance from the grounded conductor from the power connection cable to the motor, motor mount, and anything else which is connected to assure it is effectively grounded. While the motor casing (which you stated is made of plastic) might not be conductive (thus not requiring a ground) other parts of the connected system are possibly conductive.

Also, even though the motor housing is plastic, generally there are metal screws/fasteners that connect the housing to the motor; and these are generally intimate with the motor. So if you cannot remove the plastic housing to verify to the motor, you could (aside from evidence received from the mfg.) verify that the metal components are bonded.
