Handling Off-the-Shelf Components

Starting to get Involved
Dear all,

I was wondering how off-the-shelf components (e.g. screws, nuts and bolts) should be handled in the DHF/DMR. As we do not create the technical drawings or specifications for these, should we just take the data sheet from the supplier or is merely a description of the material and dimensions of the necessary part sufficient? How best to revision control these?

Thank you!

Off-the-shelf generic components such as screws and bolts should appear in your assembly drawings (with their specifications) which is part of your DMR. These components should also appear in your BOM with link to supplier part number / datasheet.
