I'm surprized no one has mentioned Wall-E in this thread yet. It looks like another hit from Pixar and Disney and the previews look great. I'm hoping to bring my nephew to see it this weekend. It will be his first time at the movie theater so I'm hoping the movie will be good enough to keep him in his seat throughout the entire 103 minutes

Oh... the old, "I'm carrying my nephew to the Disney movie, trick!":lmao:

Seriously.. at least these makers of kids movies realized that adults are there too, and they should work to cater to both groups. My boy wants to see Wall-E.

Iron Man was one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

As far as Chick Flicks, Fools Gold was decent. The wife of one of our quality engineers went to High School with Matt Mconogoughy the leading actor guy.

Ok... I'm usually not in the movie referral business:tg:, but Vantage Point was pretty decent.

Readings the previews, you get the notion that it's another Groundhog Day. However, the producers did a decent job of adding a little something to each scenario, making you go "hmmmm" (this is action/adventure, and Groundhog a comedy). Academy award winner? Probably not. But at least the producers actually cared about making a decent movie that would keep people's interest. Also, a really nice job of pulling things together at the end.

A friend just went on and on and on about Dark Knight. Any reviews from the Covers?

For me, a movie isn’t just a movie…it’s an experience that I regularly crave. As I slip into that stadium theater seat, resting my feet on those ingenious foot railings, my anticipation mounts as the lights dim; my buttery popcorn is nestled in my lap for safe keeping from friends who say they don’t really want popcorn. My overly large cluster of napkins is within easy reach; my Dew is hugged tightly by another inspired gadget: the cup holder. I’m ready! The movie begins. I’m aware of my brain cells turning to slush --as if I’ve just been slipped one of those dreamy drugs they give you before surgery. Ahhhh…wonderful…oh, yeah…there’s nothing like it!

:D

This past Thursday I saw the new Star Trek movie in DLP.

I had identified several issues for purists from the trailers, but the movie provided a pertty good explanation for the inconsistencies with the TOS timeline of events. Think: Enterprise for that explanation as in alternate timeline.

In any case, the movie was really good except for a few minor details, like the Romulans not having quite so pointy ears. The budding love affair between Spock and Uhura will set quite the interesting stage for the next few movies I think. The Spock from our timeline also gets into the action.

But, I really really do NOT like the engines on this Enterprise. They look like they have floaties on the front of the nacelles!

Hershal, did you catch the special on History Channel about them auctioning off all the old Star Trek stuff from the set? Guess what costs the most???:)

I understand that this movie is some 200 years after "Enterprise" (TV) time frame and just after the forming of the Federation.

The Spock from our timeline also gets into the action.
I heard that James T. wanted to be in it also but due to being killed off in Generations(?) they didn't want to make matters worse.
