Didn't have to look up your proof, I was thinking Kirk began his 5 year mission in the 2300s when actually it was 2245 and Enterprise ended around 2161.
It is 200 years from now, in the 2200s.

Down side about Quarks.....ST:TE (Star Trek:The Experience) closed when they lost the lease last year.....but it is to reopen (may already be open) just up on Fremont Street in the mall there.....I have not yet been to the new one.....

I saw, and quite enjoyed, the new Star Trek film last night.

There didn't seem to be much of a chain of command in the crew of the Enterprise. Whoever got his bum on the seat first claimed the role of Captain, Chief Engineer, Chief Medical Officer etc.:)

Still, it passed a couple of pleasant hours.

Hadn't been to see a movie in a theater for several years, but HAD to see Star Trek on the big screen!

I saw Star Trek a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. I think they nailed it with the cast and the action. The plot went smoothly. Of course they took some liberties with the original story but they have the makings of several movies to follow if they can duplicate this.

I hardly ever go to the movies except to see visually stunning movies. I highly recommend Star Trek.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new Transformers movie. I hope they don't blow it but from what I've read it will be awesome.

GI Joe looks like it could be a big hit as well.

I'm only commenting on movies I would like to or will see at the theater. The cost of going to the movies has made be choosy about what to see. If it is an action movie with lots of visual effects I'll try to see it. If it is like Angels and Demons, I'll wait for the DVD.... just a matter of choice and funds...

We saw UP yesterday and loved it. The 4-year-old crawled into my lab a few times during "scary" parts - when the main characters got into a little trouble - I think the 8-year-old did once to my wife also - but they were raving about it afterward.

Probably bring a tear to the eye of married folks out there.

Overall - good for all ages.
