With two kids, age 6 & 2, we really don't get out to the movies much.

We're considering getting a babysitter lined up to see the new Harry Potter movie next month.

The last movie I remember seeing in the theater was Shark Boy and Lava Girl with my (then) 5-yr old in a dollar house.
I would expect the older one to really like Harry - go during the day - take the 2 year old, too. The net price will be cheaper than hiring a sitter and the daytime audience won't care if the 2 year old gets "fussy."

OMG!!:mg: Shark Boy and Lava Girl- What parts I did not sleep through were really painful! No wonder that's the last movie you saw!

Spider man 3 was decent, but not as good as 1 and 2 (IMHO). The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was really good; the small minority of sequels that are as good/better than the first.

I rented a movie last week that I hadn't heard anything about, but I enjoyed it very much. Its called "The World's Fastest Indian" and it is based on the true story of a guy in New Zealand who had bought an old Indian motorcycle and modified it heavily. He had a dream of taking the bike to Bonneville.

I'll not give any more of the story away, but except for 2 or 3 scenes it might even be OK for the younger ones.

That was a Anthony Hopkins movie, was pretty good if I may say so myself. :)

I took my 6 year old little girl to see "Surf's Up" and though we both liked the movie I still don't understand why they have to put all the grown up references in it. In one part of the movie, Chicken Joe is in the Forest looking for someone and says "He's around here somewhere I can feel it in my nuggets." :D Funny....but not something I necessarily want my 6 year old running saying.

Yea, I don't think there's any escaping. It seems like very few of them have the ability to make a good kids movie without the poop, fart, kick in the groin shot. I leave all that to the masters-Moe, Curly, and Larry!

The smart movie makers pepper good kids movies with humor for adult and kids. That way, the parent does not feel punished paying $200.00 for movies and having to sit through pain!

I'd be careful on this one, I found the book to be pretty dark and intense. It might terrify young ones... JMHO. A parent is best able to gauge their child's tolerance, I suppose. I never would have taken my 3-year-old cousin to see Jurassic Park, back in the day, but his mom did, and he loved it.

If there are two adults, you could always split up and one could take the younger one to see "Ratatouille" or something...
