Have you tried recording vinyl to MP3s and or CDs? Turntable with USB port?

Will have to try that once I get my whole system together again. Was packing up my oldie but goodie system of long ago, since I am planning to move, so I can set up my old receiver, open reel, cassette deck, and 70's speakers.
I want to do it the old fashioned way instead of thru my computer.

Not that it is helpful, but I run my old school turntable and cassette deck through a mixer (from my old vinyl DJ days), then into the AUX input of the computer to rip records and tapes. Most of my collection is played in larger venues (such as parking lots and halls) so purity of the recording is not critical. But, I use Magix Audio Cleaner to clean up the hiss and pops from dicier vinyl (especially classic castoffs found at Goodwill) - after a good cleaning, of course!

The best way is to use the source=a turntable, and connections directly to your computer. This way, the sound doesn't have that processed sound.
It really does help, eventhough the computer programs out there are good, they can't be as good as the source program.
