Sign Me Up!!!

Mama Steel. If you could have worked in Country and Apple Pie, they may have asked you to write speeches for the President!!!:vfunny:

All very good points I have to add.

Shannon,
If you remember the little blurb in QS "where the absence of which . . ." This is a good place to look at the applicability of that statement. So what if it isn't used very often, if you didn't use it would something get messed up? Then proceduralize it and control it. What harm will that do? Like SteelMaiden stated what do you want your system to be or do? Be radical, do it because it makes sense to do it. Remember, ISO/QS do not prohibit the use of reason.:agree:

Myself, I'd make it a procedure if it is referred to in performing the job, even if it is not one of the "6" required procedures.
FWIW, I think this is a good litmus test.

If it is a pure training doc I like David's idea to "still kind of control them via dates, numbers, whatever" in an informal fashion. I control them by dates and keep them in a ref folder so I have them when I need them again for training or, rarely, CYA purposes.

Claes: it ran out yesterday. Something to the effect of "we lost our momentum in production - it was just bad luck".
Wouldn't have been poor management, scheduling, execution, communication, competency, morale, etc, etc.....

Shannon: If something only comes up o nrare occassions, perhaps some sort of process specification inclusion is warranted. Perhaps a history document of sorts. Computer programmers revisit a procedure/instruction only when they have to alter the program - sometimes years. Maintenance staff keep a history file on machines to see what was done previously, how to do a job, etc.

Food for thought.

In our 5pm daily production meeting (as opposed to the 9am production meeting or the 1030 karaoke production meeting) last Friday the Production Manager joined the party in his summation of the week. He said we had been unlucky this week, and hopefully next week will be better.

Now it is that next week and Luck and Hope seem to have played a fickle part in our productivity already this week.

I have completed a purchase req for a rabbit foot, horse shoe and red underwear. In addition, I have distributed a factory notice requesting nobody walk under ladders, break mirrors or cross the path of any black cats until further notice. Apparently the canteen is in an uproar since the spilt salt shaker episode.

Senior Managers have been requested to cross their fingers at all times.

The Employee Relations dept has withdrawn its request for all wood to be knocked on after a spate of splinter injuries.

Cracking up... :-D

David... Don't do that to me. I laughed so much, I hurt my tummy.
What a way to start the week though...

Now, here's a question: Would those actions be considered corrective or preventive? And about the splinter injuries: Get better wood. Mahogany perhaps?

Bloke,

Thanks, I needed a laugh this Monday morning!

Sorry to hear of the terrible luck befalling your company. I suggest a call to Madame Cleo may be a good preventive action considering the circumstances. Better hurry, though, I hear she may become a guest of the government soon and can only get 1 phone call per week after that!:vfunny:
