We know that ASQ offers Six sigma Black belt Certification. (CSSBB) i.e. Certified Six Sigma Black belt.

I understand besides ASQ there are many others who offer Certifications
Right from Universities, Reputed Consulting firms, Organizations, Training firms, etc.

Body of Knowledge, entry requirement criteria, Certification criteria, Levels and Category differ widely between these Sixsigma Certifications.

Belts that are currently available in the market include but not limited to;
White Belt, Yellow Belt, Brown Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, Master Black Belt, +
Lean Six sigma - permutations and combinations of the above!

Iam working on a Comparison study between various Six Sigma, Lean Combination programs. I am requesting our members to deposit information through their posting they find relevant to this Variety of Six Sigma Certification.

If you have been trained by one of those please feel free to provide your feedback on plus and minus about that program design.
If you are not Six Sigma certified yet, please just post the hyperlink you found relevant to a certification.
If you find a Comparison study performed on this topic by any one else, please provide that information too.

In the Elsmar Cove, we have Six Sigma practitioners and critics. :argue: This gives a good balance to review the comparison study more objective and unbiased.

I hope Cove members can help us with your posting of such certification worldwide.

Thanks,
Govind.

Govind,

The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business has a Six Sigma certification. Their website will provide the details but here is what I remember. The course is a 4 week course with on-line tutorials with one week in class work. The cost is about $5000. There are exams for each week of the course and a requirement for a Six Sigma project.

The professors involved have a history of teaching and consulting in operational management, statistics and quality management. The program was initiated a few years ago.

Thanks Bill.

I also did some research on Internet, Quality Digest directories, AQC 2004 Exhibit Catalogues collected during my recent visit and arrived at the following list:

I decided to only list those Six Sigma programs that have Body of Knowledge, assessment/exam, project completion.
There are many who offer just the training and a Course completion certificate only. I did not list those organizations.

Some of the links with Master blackbelt also offer Green and Black belt Certifications. With Lean combination,Service-Manufacturing choice.
Iam really surprised looking at the variations and customizations of Sixsigma by various Certification providers. Price tag anywhere between 4K to 20K!! I have not started my detailed comparison.I am still collecting information. So, if anyone found other Certification providers, please continue to post.

Regards,
Govind.

Here is another article I found on Quality Digest March 01 on similar topic" Six Sigma Needs Standardization".

http://www.qualitydigest.com/mar01/html/sixsigma.html

This article talks about the IQF - Certified Six Sigma Black belt Exam certification process. The details are on http://www.iqfnet.org/IQF/blackbelt001.htm

While,Standardization should be the ultimate goal, this may take a longer duration to obtain agreement from various professionals involved in this Six Sigma Certification Program design, my objective would be, as a short-term measure, to help set "MINIMUM" standard for Six Sigma certification program.

Regards,
Govind.

Can someone post information (if it is not proprietary) on Green Belt/Blackbelt program from:
General Electric
Allied Signal
Black & Decker,
Johnson & Johnson
Bombardier
ABB
Polaroid
Raytheon, etc.

I understand the organizations mentioned above have their own Six sigma program.

Thanks,
Govind.

Thanks Charmed,
The attached information is useful from Six sigma point of view.
Iam looking for links that talk about Six sigma Certification process. One of your attached link
http://www.qualitydigest.com/sept01/html/ford.html
touches that subject but not detail enough to use for the Comparative study purpose. Keep digging, I ran out all key words. You may find something new from your search.
