How can I die cut foam - I'm thinking of a simple hand machine?

I did the first editing of this thread's title and just to make sure that the word 'dye' is not wrong, I did some searches. This page of webster's dictionary seems to agree to it:
n. 1. Color produced by dyeing.
2. Material used for dyeing; a dyestuff.
1. Same as Die, a lot.

If you google 'dye cut', 'mold & dye' or 'dye cast', you'll find that they are very much in use. There are company names such as 'American Dye Casting'.

Whether it's wrong use of the word or not, it seems the use of this word is deeply entrenched and I conclude that the OP is not wrong to use this word.

"Dye" in this sense is wrong. Stamping tools aren't "lots" so the association you posted isn't relevant. (See the first definition here.)

I agree with you. As I said, whether it's wrong use (or wrong interpretation) of the word or not the use of this word is quite deeply entrenched - just use the key words that I used/suggested to 'google' and you'll see it.

Harry, the interwebs are full of misspelled words. The fact that you can find the word misspelled many times in a Google search is not an indication that the usage is "entrenched"; it's an indication that there are lots of poor spellers out there.

Sure, wrong use doesn't legitimized it. In this case, both words are commonly pronounced in the same way.
