How can I identify employee training needs?

I've been trying to improve our training. I though it would be easy to me make improvements. Now, I'm a bit confuse. Is the training the trainers training was the only way that can be used to address or certify the trainer? Please advice.
Where does the training needs analysis procedure originates? So far, I work on the every departments job descriptions. How could I identify the their training needs? Help, please. :confused:

Job descriptions are a good start - as the criteria for skills needed.

Did you try a SEARCH ?

- Use Keyword Training - and SEARCH for thread titles only.

I found 87 thread titles discussing training and training effectiveness here but would not know which information would be most useful to you.
