How did you spend New Years? 2009

How did you spend New Years? Did you go out? Stay in? Party?

I (with my son and his GF) went to Vegas. The Strip was shut down at 6pm, but the alcohol vendors were selling drinks shortly after noon. In Vegas, so long as one is cool, no one cares if you walk down the sidewalk with open alcohol, it is completely normal. Hence, lots of folks feeling really good.

That evening, the Bellagio was running its fountain shows (fountains set to music) for hours non-stop, and the fireworks would have made the folks are Disney World green with envy. Even fireworks on top of the Strat.

In my case no party, no special meals, no celebrations.

I spent the day doing honey-does (at my own will of course! ) and filing archives

My wife and I together with our 2-yr old son went to visit my in-laws. I had a good drink with my father and 2 brother in-laws (who paid a visit as well).

Then my wife and I tried to solve a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. It took us 8 non-stop hours (except for the eating breaks) to complete it. It was a very good bonding time and a very relaxing break. Mainly because my son was almost always with the grand parents.

Quietly at home with my wife and grandson Zach. We sat up and just watched movies.

I did n't celebrate anything. Just stayed at home and spend some quality time with my son.

I bought a bottle of sparkling grape juice and a box of peach nector, my youngest son and I played cards, watched No Country for Old Men and Gone Baby, Gone and drank faux cocktails. My ex called and I ignored the call (that was the highlight of the evening, my son was the one who said "please don't answer that Mom, I don't want to talk to him.") We toasted our happy little family and played a game of Skipbo. Decadent flok, aren't we?

We ate dinner at a restaurant with some friends, then went back to their house. We tried to play Balderdash, but one of the guys has the attention span of a small puppy. So we quickly had to abandon the game.

We watched a little TV. Poor Dick Clark is really looking bad. Not sure how much longer he can last in front of a camera.

Then about 12:15am, we drove back home.

New Years day was spent laying around, watching the Three Stooges marathon I recorded off of AMC.

I watched the one where they're plumbers. All they have to do is fix a small leak in a pipe. Within five minutes they have destroyed the house.

I laughed so hard my side hurt. Moe stays in the basement to fix the leak. He sends Curly upstairs to turn the water off, and Larry outside to do the same. Curly destroys the upstairs, while Larry digs a pit some 20 foot deep; I guess looking for the water line.

A good way to start off the New Year-laughing.

We stay in flats and have a condominium which arranges for dinner, games and prizes for winners in various competitions that are held for school kids and women during the last week of the year. We get a big shelter erected in the open area and arrange for seating, lighting, sound system, stage, and dinner is cooked and served hot to everyone. All the cultural programs on that evening are by the school kids in our flats. We have a session of housie game played and winners get the portion of the money collected by way of housie ticket sale. We end it just past the stroke of 00 hours after greeting everyone the best in the new year. Being a part of the managing committee of the condominium, it has always been a pleasure for me to be a part of the arranging and interacting with all the residents that evening ...

After the routine work, I joined with my friends by afternoon and had some drink.
Somewhat making me prepared to go home by brushing, eating chocolate, etc, I went to home.
Unexpectedly????, all my family members were waiting for me to have lunch jointly. . I excused and joined.
By evening we all went to temple. After that had evening dinner in a restaurant and finished the day. I balanced the day - I think..but..
