How do I set up GMP's for a flexible packaging converter?

I run my family's factory that prints (gravure), laminates and slits flexible packaging. We are trying to implement GMP's and an entire QMS, as we have never done this. Does anybody have knowledge of this industry who can guide me in the right direction?

Hello Barry,

As you can see, Covers are always active....:agree1: Even on a Saturday..

You are located in South Africa. Are there South African GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) you must abide by? Is your packaging produced for an American customer for export and/or use in the USA? (I am not an expert in GMP's that apply in or to different parts of the world.) If so, you must consider those as well.

It's a good practice to approach your customer with specific questions. They may already have the standards and requirements that may apply to you. I have worked with packaging (offset-sheetfed) printers in the USA. Their customers provided them with all applicable company and regulatory requirements. Nevert hurts to ask.

Thanks for your input. The customer is based in South Africa, but they do not have anything for me to work with, so have recommended we get consultants on board to implement our GMP's, PRP's, SOP's and possible HACCP as well.

We dont have the available funds currently so I am trying to do as much as possible with the help of my colleagues.

I guess where I am confused is what the difference is between all the above. I am busy developing processes & procedures for my business. I have attached an example of one so you can give me some constructive criticism. I am using the books by Stephen Page as my reference, which I bought from Bizmanualz.com. Are these any good?
