How does ISO/TS 16949:2002 differ from ISO/TS 16949:2009?

Oops!! :mg: That look like consulting to me which is strictly verboten by the IATF.

Your organization decides on the quality manual and how it goes about meeting the requirements, NOT the Registrar and/or Auditor.

Sorry Stijloor that was not the intention of the post.

I only wanted to share that is all, I am not a consultant, I am passing on something I learned which saved me time and served as a quality improvement no harm meant. If I crossed a line it was unknowing and with good intentions, I know the rules too.:eek:

My registrar is professional and would not try to consult to a company either, but I do appreciate your comment and caution Stijloor.

My comment and concern was directed to your registrar/auditor.
They can not not suggest, make recommendations, advise, etc.
That is considered consulting.

I look for innovative ideas that would get more buy-in to my efforts in getting co-workers to take an interest of the processes in my company that improves quality. An abbreviated Quality Manual has on many levels an advantage over a large cumbersome book that no one wants to read. Written instructions at work stations need to be interesting and easy to read and understand in order to prevent bad parts.

I've removed my post because I would not want my clumsy comments to reflect on those unaware of my actions.

What I have found over the many years in training and consulting; if you want acceptance and buy-in, you need to explain how it benefits employees.

In my introduction courses, I always stress three things:
  • Benefits to the Employees
  • Benefits to the organization as a whole
  • Benefits to the Customers.
Acceptance, buy-in, commitment; whatever word you would like to use, comes from awareness. The Quality Manual you mentioned is not the best document to accomplish that because it only provides a description of your quality system and it is more focused on external parties.

In addition, if Top Management is not championing the QMS, you're in for an uphill battle.

There are many excellent threads here about commitment, acceptance, etc.

Specific questions are always welcomed here, and you will get responses.
