Types of visual management in place where I work:
At this point, that's about all I can think of...I'm sure I've missed stuff, but still, it's a nice list to start off with.
We do a lot of communicating here....with lots of colour and lots of pictures/graphs.
- Welcome board out front - posting accomplishments, visitors, and other quick news bits.
- Vision posted on wall as you pass Security outside.
- Strong Goal boards - 5 Strong Goals, our history, our current performance, the benchmark.
- Communication boards - While we are still working on ways to standardize this information from department to department, most boards contain 5S information, Annual Action Plans, Key Indicators, and other department related information.
- 24/7 movie - A PowerPoint presentation set up in the Rolling Mill, so that our operators have up to date information on company performance.
- Shift communication board - problems encountered, resolutions (if resolved), products coming up.
- Key Indicators - I've talked about those a lot in the Cove
- One Point Lessons - PowerPoint slides that are generated as a result of an Abnormality (hiccup from Routine Practice). Shows the wrong and the right way to accomplish one aspect of a job - the part where the Abnormality occurred.
