How many secondary/supporting documents will be associated with the new DIS version?

Has anyone heard how many secondary/supporting documents will be associated with the new DIS version? I believe I read somewhere that the number of secondary documents would be "reduced or combined within the standard itself: but have yet to see a confirmation of that anywhere..

I think the number of documented procedures 'required' has been reduced to 6.

Barb - Marc - Just for clarification I was referring to the "official secondary supporting documents??" Not what is or isn't needed in internal documentation...

More clearly ... I heard 8402 would be made obsolete & the definitions would be actually combined into the new standards - eliminating the need for a separate 8402 type book to be purchased & kept around .... The article (I forget where I read it) explainned that there were 25 or so guides, explainations, implementation help guides etc. associated with 9001, and many would not be needed with the new 9000 writeup... Purley a cost/value estimation question at anywhere from 20-70 per numbered doc..

Barb - It makes no- nada difference to me how many they end up with but it would be nice to have an idea of what cost would be associated if one were starting from scratch & all new documents would need to be purchased.....

I am just joking....the # of documents thing can go on forever.

Guess I don't think in terms of purchasing documents...since I am in the business I probably should...LOL. I think more in terms of implementing requirements/elements I guess.
