How many times do you have the term 'Requirements' in your Quality Manual?

How many times does the word 'requirements' appear in your Quality Manual?
I am currently running at 65 in an 18 page document. That's over 3.6 times per page. :D
Does this seem excessive???

Hi BTW, I'm a noob. Especially to ISO 9001 & 14001.

That may be a little less than ISO use the word "requirement" in the standards.;)

The bigger question is do they make sense in the context of the document or are they just there to make you think its important.

In our 7 page QM, including 3-1/2 pages of company history :nope:, the word requirement occurs only 5 times.
Btw - it occurs 109 times in the standard.

For some reason I can't post on forums whilst at work... :notme:

So apologies for the time taken responding.

Our QM contains some small processes in it which don't currently need their own separate procedure (that was the line fed to me). It is an inherited QM, and this is my first stab at updating it.

I shall therefore be removing 'requirement' where I can, as it does feel like it's mainly the standard copied into our manual.....

ooh 109 times (that probably accounts for the parts we've excluded as out of scope :rolleyes:)

Well you have it wrong because all you need to have is a description of the interaction between the processes of the quality management system, and not your organization or whatever else processes (of course you need to inclde what's also required from 4.2.2 a & b)

I have it ZERO times in ours. Just so you know I have seen one page quality manuals that cover what the standard requires.
You only need the:

- Scope (can be a sentance or two)

- Interaction of the QMS proceses (easily addressed with a simple interaction chart/graph)

- Procedures OR REFERENCE to them. I just have our listed bullet style.

And thats it!

Let that REALLy sink in....that is ALL you NEED.

Ours is 8 pages and honestly 5 pages of that is just marketing stuff that I threw in there to make it a little "value added".
And ours is super easy to read, honestly it reads like a info-graphic document with as little text as possible.

Zero.

The word "Expectations" appears a few times though...
"...meet or exceed customer EXPECTATIONS...".

Odd thing...when customers give you a "Requirement"...they "Expect" you to meet it :tg:

Hi BTW, I'm a noob. Especially to ISO 9001 & 14001.
The bigger question is how effective and efficient are your processes.

Focus on shipping quality products and on time delivery to your customers - reduce scrap.

Wording - remember - only auditors and a few customers actually read your QM.
