An interesting article. It seems the advice is based on replicating what the FDA auditors do - almost a case of 'go there, look in the lab note book' and doesn't really follow the process of an effective internal audit for an ISO based standard.
Can some one brief me about How/who will audit the Internal Audit Process and Internal Auditors. And Who will Audit that Internal Audit Auditing Activity?
Ideally that should be carried by independent body, external auditor. Payment for a such an event might not be necessarily involved, as the audit may be conducted as an exchange audits between you and someone trained as an auditor from other company.

Hi,
The internal audit process can be audited by a person who is not a part of the internal audit team. The auditor shall poses all the competency and skill required for an auditor. for instance a third party consultant shall be a internal audit for auditing the internal audit.

A little surprised on this ...
An internal audit team is the team of all IA trained auditors who are from across the various company functions or departments. This could also include the MR of the company. If the internal audit process is the domine of the MR then anyone else from the team apart from the MR may audit the IA process (even someone from the QA function...)

Yes. The requirement is: 'Auditors shall not audit their own work' and if they do not own or are related to the process owner, it is reasonable to infer that objectivity and impartiality is there.
