Take a lesson from the Family Handyman magazine. In the back of every issue is a one page, monthly project with a husband / wife as the characters. Each month it identifies the problem, shows how to fix it step by step & they never use words, pictures only.
They’re simple projects but the point is that they are simple, direct, easily understood. As work instructions go, I’d say they pass any language barrier. A good starting reference point on how to pass on info without words.
