How to identify Custometr Specific Requirement, If is not provided by Customer.

More people on the cove might be able to help you if you provided more information on why the customer has not provided the information you require.

If it was me, I'd either ask them or do research on the needs of a customer fitting their profile.

Another way to do this is to put yourself in the shoes of your customer, what would you expect when you purchase a product?

Say, if I were to go to a cafeteria on a hot summer day and order a glass of soda, I would expect the following:
- that it's given promptly
- that it's good quality (clean, good packaging, not expired)
- that the soda is cold, if it's not, I would expect that the seller gives me some ice in the glass to go with my soda. :2cents:

Dear All,

Can any one guide us-
How to identify Custometr Specific Requirement, If is not provided by Customer.
We typically approach this by determining how the product is intended to be used. This is a single example, as the method depends on many factors.

Example: We provide two materials as options for aircraft cabling; stainless steel and carbon steel. Differences between the two are weight and cost. The customer can order either, but if they intend on using the aircraft in a marine environment (like a float plane), we would determine that the requirement would be to use stainless steel cabling, even if the customer did not specify it.

Hi all,
I don't really have a great answer to this question or at least it wouldn't be different than the one before "If we know for what kind of application our material will be use we know what specification to apply".
But that's only true if we know where our stuff goes (we are a steel hot rolling mill) so I have a question related to this thread.
We have some direct automotive costumer for which we can easily and clearly identify their CSR (technical ones as well as management, environnement... ones) but many of our costumer send our steel to the automotive world without telling us whom final costumer will use our steel therefor we cannot insure we meet all the CSR.
What are your feelings about this?

just share of my situation,
Our customer (Tier 2 of Mitsubishi) did not too consider withISO TS Certificate thing, so when we ask about CSR they said, they didn't have.
Finally we just take the conclusion that the form that we sent to the customer is our CSR
This form includes guidance how to inspect product, periodical inspectio that we must send, all of the product spec, packing stndard, etc.
However our CB request that we keep ask if customer already issued CSR
hope this will help
