I just wanted some guidelines about QUALITY DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS, and ;if there were any; some examples implemented on schools!

You require the same documents as everyone else...those that are listed in the Standard. As for determining if any additional documents are required, your organization/school must determine if the absence of a document will impede the ability for you to provide the service that your Customer's expect.

I'm not sure that there is much here on schools. Most of the people here are manufacturing people. I'd be happy to see some examples from schools as well, if anyone has any. The same with the quality policy and measureables. I know it's easier when you have some sort of example to look at of what others in a similar industry have done with respect to aspects such as measureables.

If anyone here is in a school or college that is willing to share some examples, we would all appreciate it. Or, if anyone here has any suggestions I'm sure they will be appreciated.

As to required documents, of course the standard spells out about 6, but we all know it is the rare company (in this case school) which will only have the written procedures required by the standard. There are always more processes and systems which will be documented, not because of the standard, but because for their specific situation they will need them internally.

Anyone here have any experience in implementing in a school who might be able to help?

I know of schools / colleges in india that have certified their admission and evaluation systems. but none that have included the teaching aspect in the scope so far. The documentation will greatly depend on what does Lufti defines as the scope of his system.

Do you really have any clear ideas on this front Lufti? Else all of us will be left shooting in the dark.

Dear Potdar... what exactly do you mean by the scope? If you mean the clients... we decided that they are the students, their parents, and all the Palestinian society.

Please let me know more about what you mean with "scope"

Scope is the boundary covered by the system you are attempting to design. In your typical case, it is most likely to consist of the admission process, the teaching process, the evaluation process, the administration aspect etc. Or maybe you want to exclude the teaching part from yor system. And does your system include the course design? Or is it designed for you by somebody else? If you are designing it then you have to define how you do it. Does your school have a hostel? You may want to consider it as a separate entity. Then forget it. If you want to include it in the scope then define your hostel management in your system.

I hope the idea is clear. The scope is what the system is designed to do. And the scope statement is what appears on your certificate as the description of the system audited and certified for.

So first, be clear of what your system is going to cover, then start designing it.

in my case, all what you have mentioned is included... the admission process, the teaching process, the evaluation process, the administration aspect all are included. But the courses come (most of them) from the ministry of education... while a few of courses are designed by the school...

You might find it helpful to network with others who have done school quality initiatives. ASQ (www.asq.org) has an education section that might have some good ideas. Also there have been several school districts that have won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the US. I just ated to say were we have arrived in our project
