Could you please suggest examples related to meet ISO TS clause 7.1.2 Acceptance criteria?

Is it related only to the product or also to the bought materials?
How to meet zero defects for attribute data?
Is it required a procedure?

Hope you can help

Good day qusys,

Clause group 7.1 is directed to what we are providing to the customer. As such, 7.1.2 requires us to define acceptance criteria for what we are producing.

Materials used for the production also need acceptance criteria, but the element group for that requirement is found in 7.4, Purchasing, specifically 7.4.2.

The "zero defects for attributes" requirement is telling us that when sampling plans such as ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 are used, the minimum acceptance level shall be zero defects. In other words, it does not mean zero defects will be produced; it means when inspecting using samples representing lots, we will not accept a sample if we find an attribute defect.

How we manage to produce few defects is the business of the entire QMS and its definition, implementation and effectiveness.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for this, Jennifer.

Is this requirement referred only to the finished good shipping or is it also referred to the lot processing in line?
Can you provide an example of ANSI/ASQ Z1.4?

There is reference to 8.2.3.1, so it means we have to define approval criteria for all "controls" listed in control plan. It includes "receiving", "in line" and "final inspection".

I would see relation with 7.3.5 and 7.3.6 as well, but it depends on organisational specifics.

I think it's safe to say that acceptance criteria must be established at any point where accept/reject decisions are made with regard to the product.

Not sure what you're looking for here, but the idea is when attribute acceptance decisions are made with regard to lots, regardless of the sampling plan, the lot must be rejected if a single defective is discovered. As Jennifer pointed out, it doesn't mean that your production must yield zero defects.

Thank, Jim.
I think that acceptance criteria should be seen inside the process of product realization planning and request for approval for example in PPAP , if required by the customer.
I have also seen that there are some business where customers propose acceptance criteria in process flow. Is it right? For example in foundry model.:bigwave:

Thank you Jim. :agree1:

Sampling inspection in process flow is just another type of inspection, as I understand it the same methods are good to use.

Customers are of course welcome to define acceptance criteria in-process. It should be a part of the contracting phase and APQP preparation. I have no affiliation with Quality-One.

SQC Online has a web page called About Acceptance Sampling. I'm not affiliated with SCQ online, and I can't vouch for its acceptance sampling calculators but they do look nice.

Z1.4 is copyrighted and available for purchase from ASQ. However it is said to be identical to the now-cancelled MIL-STD-105E, which is attached within the AQL - AOQL - What % equals a certain level of AQL thread.
