If you haven't ever heard it... Texas is big. Here in Arlington (400 miles North of Houston) we are actually having a fairly nice, sunny day.
Not sure how much of this is making it outside of Texas, and to the international audience. But... this is big. Really big.
Despite Houston being the 4th largest city in the USA, it (again... Texas is big..) and the surrounding cities cover a large geographic area. This not only houses people, but ports, businesses, industries, cattle, travel/tourism, oil interests, etc.
Someone posted the below picture, which seems to do a really good job (to me) of summarizing the situation. This is how much rain they have had.
So if any of you are down in this, my thoughts and prayers are with you. if needed, get in the car and head to DFW. We'll take care of you.
