I'm trying to determine if a second wash is worth performing. The data in the attached sheet are the particle counts before and after the second wash. My question is should I perform a ttest, ftest or is there a better method? Thank you
A Paired t-Test is certainly an appropriate method provided the counted data was transformed to stabilize the variances.
Hello Miner,
I understand the paired t-Test part, but can you kindly explain the 'stabilize the variances' part? It's my 1st time to hear of it. What is its purpose?
tnx

Is this data continuous or discrete? t test is for continuous data. I do not know much about particle count but it sounds more like discrete data to me. Could be wrong wouldn't be the first or last time...
