My primary criterion for a car the last thirty years or so has been "Will it hold my golf bag and pull cart plus the gear of a playing partner if we decide to rough it and actually walk a course instead of tooling around in the little cart chasing the pretty girls in the
beer and brat carts?"
When single I had a fair share of sporting cars - tuned 1100 cc MG engined Morris 1000, tuned Wolsley Hornet (mini), 3 Vauxhall Astra SR's, Reliant Scimitar GTE.
During 'family life' I've had the boring mundane cars (Austin All-aggro,Vauxhall Nova) and kid haulers (Vauxhall Estate car, Mister Bishi Space Wagon etc.) My love of Land Rovers' allowed my to tote kids, dogs, stuff to ski slopes, on vacation, school run etc and to have some off road adventures.
Now I'm single, the boys have their own transport - no dogs either, I have a LR for winter (and off road) and went back to my sporting car interests with the Cobalt. If I were having a real mid life crisis I'd have a Triumph Bonneville/Thruxton/T1000......
