Wow, I'm so glad I found this thread before I went to my boss asking for $ for software that is going to make my department more efficient. I think I'll wait until the "beta" has been revised. This whole thing is the epitome of irony. They wanna do something with software? How about creating a web portal and make all of the tier 1's use the same damn website so I don't have to learn how to navigate a new one every year.

I'm in the process of evaluating the software via free trial. There's not even an option to pick which version of the FMEA guide to use. The only default is AIAG FMEA 4th edition. There's not even an option to choose the AIAG VDA FMEA. Wasn't that the main reason for the updated release of the software?

The AIAG CTS Development team received the final AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook on June 3, along with the rest of the world. The new AIAG & VDA FMEA is under development is and excepted to be in Sept.

Good day all;
I have taken the on-site AIAG-VDA harmonization training provided by AIAG and have attended the on-line CTS training provided by AIAG. In addition, I have downloaded the CTS user guide, which is indeed somewhat helpful (available here...

For those of you considering, keep in mind that AIAG offers a 30 day free trial of the system (I encourage the use of the free trial for anyone interested prior to purchasing).

I must agree that the system is less than intuitive. The "PARTS" tab allows for information to be loaded for "operations", "process characteristics" and "product characteristics". However, each of the aforementioned is on a different page making it difficult to remember/be consistent from one set of entries to another. In addition, the information does not migrate to the "PROJECTS" tab where APQP documentation (flow diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.... are located. Those must be populated without the ability (unless the user has two or more screens available) of referencing back to the information already (redundantly?) entered.

I am making progress so if anyone would like to work together directly (I can arrange a screen sharing) I would be happy to freely share what I've learned thus far.
