When reading the new description, I am wondering how far to go with suppliers? We produce metal forgings. I know to include material, heat treat, plating, calibration... But do die lube and tooling suppliers need to be included.
I think the answer to your question is in 8.4.1.1, which says you need to include products & services that can affect customer requirements. Up to you to determine if the die lube and tooling can affect your ability to meet your customer's requirements.
Classic case to wear the RBT cap and use risk to determine the need or not to formally control suppliers of capital equipment and perishable goods. As long as you can demonstrate you treated the decision via a risk-based decision, no external auditor should try to second guess you.
RBT should be thoroughly deployed in questions that can affect product conformity and/or customer satisfaction.
