Probably ISO 17025 requirements are too hard for inspection equipment manufacturers.
So how can I buy their products?
I have no explanation.

No, it isn't. This is a common misunderstanding. Some equipment CANNOT be adjusted. Calibration is simply the science of knowing how far from the "measurand" an item of measuring equipment operates. Adjustment is NEVER part of any formal definition of "calibration".

Which is - experience shows - dangerous. I'm familiar with an item of safety related equipment for which the manufacturer was blissfully ignorant of any true calibration methods and stated "it self-calibrates"...:eek:

Thats y we find external lab to perform calibration. but the issue is they cannot do adjustment. now our purchasing call Nikon to do calibration and adjustment and call external lab to do 2nd time calibration to get cert with iso17025.
my dept need to bare cost for 2 times calibration.

Your Purchasing was doing right. Adjustment by Nikon and the recalibrated by certified external lab. don't forget to do the rule when your measuring tool or equipment have adjusted.

Have you verified that Nikon is not ISO17025 accredited? Our calibration certificates from them say that they are accredited.

In fact, ISO 17025 standard can be only accredited not certified. That's why the IATF standard refers to qualified laboratory. Yo just have to validate that parameter or equipment is within the scope of Nikon accreditation :)
