As Sidney correctly pointed out, the nuts could be playing a critical function. You don't want to work through a trial run that may end up a failure, due to the nuts. Worse, if the verification/validation steps following the pre-build cannot capture the problem. You may go on to mass production, and the problem blows up in the field. There will be claims and recalls to deal with. If the nuts are purchased items by you, all the more you need to make 100% sure, due to liability. Get them to change the drawing. Get written answers to cover yourself.
