Starting to get Involved
We are IATF Certified,

In our Internal Audit i have found an NC regarding maintenance dept that there is none of Predictive MTN work held from last 6 months. On going upon root cause i found out that person is not doing his work from past 6 month only preventive and breakdown Mtn held. Person is not having time from his preventive and breakdown work according to him

So we are now unable to close the Non conformity please suggest what corrective action we can take and close the NC

My company had a non conformity at this item.
The auditor saw all documents that evidence compliance to 8.5.1.5, but reported that we had no evidence of a documented process.
In other words ...he wants to see a procedure or, as a minimum, a flowchart for this section!
Can anybody help me with this, have you an exemple of a procedure or a flowchart that can be shared?

Can i have your email id or any contact number (Whatsapp) for sharing documents

This is a classic situation of lack of resources, there should be a NC for management based on the following and others

4.4 Quality management system and its processes
4.4.1 The organization shall establish, implement, maintain and continually improve a quality
management system, including the processes needed and their interactions, in accordance with the
requirements of this International Standard.
The organization shall determine the processes needed for the quality management system and their
application throughout the organization, and shall:
d) determine the resources needed for these processes and ensure their availability;

as well as

5.1.1 General
Top management shall demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality
management system by:

e) ensuring that the resources needed for the quality management system are available;

These are ISO 9001 requirements

Thanks Howard for the reply, but if the MTN person is not working as per his responsibilities given to him with aspect of Predictive Mtn.

Then how should we tackle with the NC, what root cause can be shown for this as per IATF 16949:2016 as well as corrective action & Preventive we should take for this

you state

If you wrote the finding why do you have to find the root cause?

Does he have time or not?

Use 5 why again

If not enough time then he does not have enough resources or his responsibilities are ill defined or ............

If because he does not know his responsibilities then ask why?
He was not properly briefed, etc, etc

we cannot tell you the answer but these are areas to look and work with the person himself and a cross functional team including his internal customers

There was a lot of discussion about this in this thread, where you posted your question previously. You shouldn't start a new thread when you have an active discussion on the same topic already.

Jim I did not know this
It appears that on April 25th Rahul26692 was pointed to this discussion as he was in the wrong forum and after receiving very similar answers waited for a month and tried again.
Rahul26692 have you implemented John"s advice or just look for a different answer?

In spite he is having responsibilities given he is not doing his work .
I have asked him he has replied me that due to his negligence he didn't do the Predictive Mtn Work

We are IATF certified but we are strugling to measure the effectiveness of PM. Our machines are not connected to any system to collect stops. We have of course an ERP system with cycle time but they are not always 100 % correct. Sometimes operator miss to stop the machines in ERP system (we have over 90 machines "only" 15 operators). My first idea was to planed time / used time to measure effectiviness of PM but the more dig I find reasons for the that this is not a correct way of measuring the effectiviness because of that not realy now the reason always why the machines are standing still. Is it anybody that have any other metrics for effectiviness of PM than i.e OEE MTBF etc ? We are checking for a system to collect data from machines but due to all the machines we have the cost is high.
