Idling a division of an automotive plant

I submitted a change request to our registrar a couple of months ago with verbiage that a division of the plant would be closing (high risk). The certificate will be updated on the next scheduled audit (May 2023). The company is changing the term from "close" to "idle". Should the scope be changed for the duration of the "idle" and once it starts back up, request that the scope change again?

Just to clarify - this is a single plant? And you are saying one group ("division") on those premises is closing/idling?

What is the scope of your certification?

If it is just a group of people that are no longer doing "automotive" work, then really, it is just a headcount change. If it is "idling", I would still consider it a headcount change as that # of HC will no longer being performing activites w/in scope.

Does that make sense, or is there more to this story?
