hi,
just to clarify: is this new Engineering company a subsidy / supporting site of your existing one? If yes, you may as well link as much as you can to your existing QMS.

louthguy,

  1. Determine the scope, potential customers and their needs, mission, objectives, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Eng'g Company in its market.
  2. Work with top management to assess risks and to understand how the organization will work as a system and determine the processes necessary for Eng'g Company's success.
  3. Decide on the organizational structure; matrix works well with the various engineering disciplines serving the projects and processes.
  4. Decide how to share the information that is the documented part of the Eng'g Company's process-based management system; a wiki can be very effective.
  5. Assist top management in developing their quality policy and review the objectives alignment with the policy.
  6. Identify the job titles who will act as process owners and work with them as they join the Eng'g Company.
  7. Analyze/design the processes with the process owner who will obtain comments from the process team members.
  8. Approve and post documented information to help employees to run successful processes.
  9. Determine learning needs and provide training in the processes as required.
  10. Train the leaders to agree their message for orienting the Eng'g Company's team in their use, monitoring and improvement of the management system.
  11. Audit the system and its processes for effectiveness in helping the Eng'g Company's employees to determine and fulfill requirements.
  12. Obtain customer and employee feedback, review performance and invest in improvement of services, processes and the management system.
Good luck,

John

Dear guys

I have success established the QMS of TS16949 few years ago. I would like to share my experience with you.

1. QMS Planing and make the schedule and determine the processed needed for the QMS.
2. Determine the sequence and the interaction of the processes and Document the procedure
3. Set up the quality policy and objectives and Set up the target for each process
4. Implement the system and measurement and monitoring the system
5. Improvement.

It's so easy if you understand the standard well.:D

Hi,

Basically what you need is an audit.
Is your QMS based on some published standard? If yes, which one?
What industry are you in? What country / region?

Cheers,
Ronen.
