Just started a new job in a Quality Management role. I've been assessing their systems etc, and obviously talking to a lot of people and so far the most glaring issue seems to be APQP.... or lack of it.
Most people on the shop floor are complaining that there appears to be a high quantity of jobs that hit the shop floor where there are issues with material being quoted wrong on the job card to what's quoted on the drawing... Bush sizes etc being quoted wrong etc...
When i had the interview for the job I was asked about how i'd handle the inconsistances they are currently experiencing due to lack of planning at quoting and pre-production stage.... I obviously started quoting APQP... The MD hadn't even heard of APQP let aone used it in a production situation.
I've now hit a road i've never been on before....... How do I start to integrate APQP into a company that's never ran with it?
