Our company is considering dropping its ISO 9001 certification while we are in the middle of a 3-year cycle; we just had our re-certification audit a couple of months ago. Since we've met our obligations for the audit this year I'm assuming our certificate is still good until the registrar calls us for the next audit next year, when I plan to let them know we no longer require ISO 9001 certification upon which they'll revoke our certificate.
Are there any implications from the perspective of our registrar we should be aware of? Could there be any penalties of any kind we should consider?
I would appreciate any insights/advice on this.
Thanks.
