In-House Calibration of Gas Flow Meters

Hello everyone!
We are using 5 Gas flow meters at our plant and it is an expensive option for us to send these meters outside, across the border (we are in Toronto, Canada) when we need to calibrate them.
Wondering if it is feasible to buy some equipment and calibrate them in-house. Anybody has gone through this before?

Thank you for your help!

Re: Calibration of Gas flow meters

We calibrate our medical gas flowmeters in-house using certified digital meters from Alicat (https://www.alicat.com/). Trouble is then you need to send off this meter to be recalibrated, in our case annually. Don't know if this helps.

Thank you Steve, I will look into this option, sending one master is still a better choice than sending all 5 out for calibration. Is there any standard procedure for calibrating these equipment?

Thanks again for help!

Re: Calibration of Gas flow meters

There is a manual supplied with the kit that you can follow. We then have specific Work Instructions for calibration adjustments - noting that we have tube, gauge and dial type flowmeters, so I cannot help out with an actual procedure other than we aim for +/- 10% for each flow setting up to a maximum of 15 LPM.

We manufacture all our models, but I like to retain a degree of anonymity.
