Inactive Gauge Retention Time - PPAP Section 6 Requirements

Check gages, small hand gages or small hand gages once used to verify product.

Is there a requirement for gages that were once active, which must be kept for a certain period of time?

I'm not looking for any customer specific requirement, but is there something simular to the requirement of PPAP record retention section 6 "records shall be maintained for lenght of active part plus one calander year."

This does not concern customer gages or items that may be auditable for financial records.

If a particular gauge/gage breaks, what shall we do, leave it lie around so we can admire it? :)
Maintain records, including maintenance and/or calibration data, and toss it if it is broken. If it's just going to administrative storage or the like, then store it as your process dictates.
