Thanks. We have been going over these results for the past month and trying to assess risk to clients.

Re: Any Insight to 2016 Version of TS16949

Feedback I received from a delegate at April’s meeting identified the introduction or enhanced coverage of the following key items:-
Product Safety
Corporate responsibility
Management responsibility (rather than just Quality Manager)
Contingency plans
Supplier selection Process
Supplier development
Key equipment bypassed process (GM)
Non-conforming product disposition
Verification after shutdown
Warranty to become a core tool
Enhanced entry for Error proofing (Poka Yoke)
(obviously not a complete or exhaustive list)
The big issue is the transition training from TS 16949 to the new standard, which includes retraining all internal auditors and the spike in Audits to the new standard for all companies to meet the deadline
Europe is in the same situation as ChuckHughes has identified in the US, too short a timescale, with not enough TS Auditors to meet the 14th Sept. 2018 deadline.

All TS clients will wait until 2018 to transition.

Funny that you mentioned that - today all our company's reps met to discuss if we should do our recert in the Fall 2017 to avoid the rush.

Re: Any Insight to 2016 Version of TS16949

Don't know if this is still relevant for OP, but I understood the following as latest "news":
[1] ISO/TS16949 will be replaced by a standard called IATF16949 (no ISO standard)
[2] It will be handled as a sort of "annex" certificate to ISO9001:2015 certificate.

This implies that a company will need to have ISO9001:2015 certification as a basis before being able to get "ITAF 16949" certified.

So, in terms of "waiting": ISO9001:2015 certification does not have to wait.

Well that is an interesting interpretation. We have never had a plain old ISO cert. We have always been only QS, then TS. Now due to some changes and IATF nonsense, we are thinking only going ISO 2015. Would like to know what is in the new TS version though before making the final decision.

And by the way, there is no way everyone even has a chance to get re-certified by the deadline.

Luv, confirmation on your rumor. It was tested with several CB's and selected customers.

Golfman, IATF 16949:2016 will follow same 2 in 1 format that ISO/TS 16949:2009 contained.
