My company uses steel tubing in its product that has serrations or grooves in it. Some tubing has it on the outside diameter and some has it on the inside diameter. Currently two methods are used to check the depth are using a depth gauge and a micro-vue. Both of these methods have limits to the accuracy of their measurements. I am intrested to know if any one has any other ideas for quipment that coud be used to check the depth. Attached is a representative drawing of the serrated tubing.
