Hello everyone.



I am new to the IATF quality system. I used to work with ISO 9001:2015 but now I work in a car factory.



When I started working, my boss wants to change the certified audit firm to another body (transfer audit), I have the quotes but now he wants to make an integrated system (IATF, 45001 and 14001) When I talk to other certified firms, they say it's impossible to integrate IATF with the other standards, they say that I can only integrate 45001 and 14001, is this correct or do some of you have a system integrated with these standards?

Think of this integration like a Venn diagram (overlapped circles). It is possible for the contents of the safety, environmental, and automotive quality systems to include the same work instructions and other documents or records as long as they all meet the correct criteria. the systems themselves can (and, I would argue should) overlap strongly.

For paying the certification body to come to your company to audit, you will still need the separate audits. I believe it is possible to adding on time or second auditor to complete ISO 14001 and 45001 in the same visit depending on the auditor's certifications--this is probably the integration limitation you have been told of. The IATF 16949 audit will have too much unique content to be at the same time also these audits tend to have separate auditors than those certified for ISO 14001/45001. You may be able to schedule them near the same time frame if that is a need for your company.

You are making the common mistake of confusing integrated management system with a combined audit. Your quality, occupational health & safety and environmental management systems SHOULD ALWAYS be integrated. Paragraph 5.1.1.c) of 9001, 14001, 45001, etc.. ALL mention that the requirements contained in the standard should be embedded in your business processes. Unfortunately most organizations do lip service to that requirement and create artificial and non sensical processes, procedures and systems, outside of their real business processes.

The ISO definition of a combined audit is
audit (3.2.1) carried out together at a single auditee (3.2.7) on two or more management systems
Note 1 to entry: When two or more discipline-specific management systems are integrated into a single management system this is known as an integrated management system.

The IATF does NOT ALLOW their approved CB's to perform combined audits when assessing conformity to the 16949 standard and, even if they did, the CB would have a huge challenge assembling an audit team that could be deemed competent in all those disciplines.

For accredited combined audits of integrated management systems, CBs have to follow the requirements of the IAF MD 11

Sidney is absolutely right. I've done many an audit for lets say 14K/45K at places that were also 16949 simultaneously. The quality guy looked at his stuff and I looked at mine. One common management system, one batch of many common documents, one manual and so on, but 2 separate audits, 2 separate reports. Maybe joint openings and closings, but that's it.
