Is anyone using a commercial Configuration Management software for AS?

I would appreciate any input on what you are using and how it works for you.

Thanks for your input.

Re: Configuration Management software?

We use PVCS Version Manager and Subversion for CM during the D&D product lifecycle. However, I have no first hand experience with either tool so I cannot comment on their user friendliness or effectiveness.

CM related to the QMS and EMS is a home grown system using basic MS Office tools.

Re: Configuration Management software?

Interesting,

How does your home grown system hold up in an AS audit? Do you have any issues communicating the CM status to your customers and other stake holders?

I'm sorry, I realize that I was not very clear. The home grown system is for QMS/EMS document control/management. No, we have never had a major issue with document management or CM during an audit.

Day to day CM for the product is via our old school ECN process partially facilitated by our Avexus operating system. There are no problems with communicating CM status as it is marked on the product (mod status) and easily decipherable via the mod status sheet as part of the drawing package.
