Perhaps that director is checking your worth. If you go for it or advise for it, he would get a measure of what he is looking for in you ... :cool:
Be yourself ... do yourself .. cause its your QMS. Read and understand and then map and implement. It will be worth every effort and time you put into it.

Without reading the thread, I would say no. It would depend on the current state of the Quality Culture at an individual company, but I would say very few companies could do it and have it mean anything.
