is there a requirement in 16949 that PO's show a revision level? Thanks for your help!

No. But you need to have a way of ensuring that you are conforming to the current revision level of what is being ordered.

Do you mean the purchase order document revision level, or what is being ordered?

We had this a couple of years ago. POs tend to be electronically generated but they are a key form within the QMS - so our CB demanded that we put a revision level on the PO document; and he also demanded that (despite the fact that we could prove that there wasn't a revision level on 'Stainless Steel xxxxxxx' - where xxxxxx was the stockholders own part number) he still wrote us up as there was no revision level on the actual goods being purchased!
